An extension of the Azores High will begin to influence the weather. It will cause the air to dry out rapidly on Thursday. Any patches of cloud and lingering clouds will quickly dissipate, making way for the sun. On Friday, the sun will shine mostly unobstructed from a blue or completely cloudless sky. Temperatures will rise significantly at all altitudes. The zero-degree isotherm will climb to well over 4,000 metres above sea level. So late summer is really kicking into gear once again. On Saturday, a few clouds may temporarily roll in from the north-west. Nevertheless, there will be plenty of sunshine and temperatures will remain warmer than average. On Sunday and Monday, we’ll see absolutely lovely late-summer weather again, with temperatures that are exceptionally high for September.
